Data Engineer – Hybrid, £34k+ Bonus, Civil Service Pension

About the role

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our product team in London. The role will support evidence‑based decision‑making by building analytics, reporting and performance insights for our digital products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data models, reporting frameworks, and analytics solutions for product performance measurement.
• Develop and manage dashboards and visualisations delivering real‑time insights into key metrics.
• Analyse data across the customer journey, including acquisition, engagement, retention, satisfaction and revenue.
• Work with stakeholders to define KPIs aligned with product strategy and business objectives.
• Conduct deep‑dive analyses to identify trends, risks and opportunities for product optimisation.
• Collaborate with product, marketing, operations and research teams to ensure data informs decisions.
• Integrate data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive view of customer behaviour.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, governance and compliance across reporting activities.
• Support commercial growth initiatives through acquisition, retention and engagement analysis.
• Promote best practices and a culture of continuous improvement through data and analytics.

Required profile

• Experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or performance analytics within digital products or services.
• Strong SQL skills and experience handling large, complex datasets.
• Proven ability to design and maintain reporting solutions, dashboards and visualisations.
• Analytical mindset with capacity to translate data into actionable business recommendations.
• Experience developing and tracking KPIs for digital products.
• Knowledge of data governance, quality assurance, privacy and security best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with Google Analytics (GA4).
