Data Engineer – Snowflake Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with deep expertise in Snowflake to join our growing Data & Analytics function. You will play a pivotal role in designing, building and optimising an enterprise‑wide data platform that powers business intelligence, reporting and analytics across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain an enterprise data platform centred on Snowflake.
• Build and optimise scalable dimensional data models for enterprise‑wide reporting.
• Develop high‑performance ELT pipelines and transformation processes within Snowflake.
• Optimise Snowflake virtual warehouses for performance, scalability and cost efficiency.
• Design and maintain production‑grade pipelines using Azure Data Factory and other Azure technologies.
• Analyse existing data sources and recommend architectural improvements.
• Implement robust data‑quality, testing, monitoring and deployment processes.
• Manage Snowflake security, including RBAC, data masking and governance policies.
• Collaborate with BI teams to ensure data models support Power BI reporting and self‑service analytics.
• Contribute to engineering best practices such as CI/CD, coding standards, documentation and version control.

Required profile

• Extensive commercial experience as a Data Engineer with Snowflake as the primary cloud data platform.
• Expert knowledge of Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, administration and optimisation.
• Strong experience designing enterprise‑scale data warehouses and dimensional models.
• Proven track record developing ELT pipelines and transformations within Snowflake.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory for orchestration and data ingestion.
• Experience working in a law firm or professional‑services environment, understanding complex business data and governance requirements.
