Design Engineer – Civil & Structural Infrastructure

About the role

We're looking for a Design Engineer to join our Kier Design team based in Norwich. You'll be working within Kier's 750‑strong internal consultancy, supporting the delivery of Civil & Structural Infrastructure Engineering services.

Key responsibilities

• Permanent Works design for structures, highways, geotechnics and infrastructure, integrated with temporary works considerations.
• Support tender and bid submissions with outline designs, feasibility studies and value‑engineering solutions.
• Conduct technical assessments and reviews of third‑party designs to ensure compliance with client and Kier requirements.
• Undertake site visits, surveys and inspections, providing technical advice on safety and construction matters.
• Manage project deliverables including calculations, CAD drawings, reports and risk assessments while maintaining quality standards.

Required profile

• Completed a relevant professional institution IPD (e.g., IEng, EngTech, CEng) or hold a Level 6/7 qualification with appropriate experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Commitment to acting safely, ethically and with care for the environment and communities.
