Design & Technology Teacher (Year 7‑13)

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of Design & Technology at Claremont School. You will teach students from Year 7 through A‑Level, develop the new DT curriculum and contribute to the school’s co‑curricular and pastoral life. The role sits within the International Schools Partnership, offering access to a global professional community.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Design & Technology curriculum for Years 7‑13 in line with departmental schemes of work.
• Develop and review the DT curriculum, resources and assessment strategies.
• Organise and manage equipment, materials and classroom resources, ensuring health and safety compliance.
• Prepare lessons, trips, visits and subject analyses, maintaining high teaching standards.
• Assess student work, mark homework and coursework, and record progress.
• Undertake pastoral duties, including form‑tutor responsibilities and participation in school events.
• Collaborate with the Head of Creative Faculty and contribute to departmental meetings and INSET training.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant subject degree.
• Strong technical knowledge of Design & Technology and a proactive approach to professional development.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail and the ability to work well within a team.
• Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and a flexible, "can‑do" attitude.
