Digital Engineering Specialist – Multiple Levels

About the role

Babcock is seeking Digital Engineering Specialists to join its historic Devonport Royal Dockyard teams in Warrington, Bristol and hybrid locations. You will work on a variety of digital engineering projects that support the design, maintenance and development of critical national‑defence infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and support digital engineering tools across major projects, advising users on best practice and model management.
• Manage and maintain project data across multiple disciplines, performing audits and quality checks.
• Produce and maintain project and functional procedures to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to the wider digital strategy by applying emerging tools and technologies.
• Collaborate with delivery partners and clients, engaging stakeholders to meet operational and strategic goals.

Required profile

• A degree in engineering, construction, a scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in nuclear, defence or similarly regulated sectors (desirable).
• Willingness to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (Security C).
• Self‑driven attitude toward career development.

Required skills

• 3D CAD and data‑management expertise (PLM a plus).
• BIM management with ISO 19650 knowledge.
• CDE management experience (e.g., Asite) and general DMS handling.
• Point‑cloud processing, 4D modelling, VR/AR and animation capabilities.
