About the role

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a Director within a well‑established accounting and professional services firm serving York and North Yorkshire. The role combines strategic oversight, client relationship management, and team development to drive the firm’s continued growth and high‑performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across multiple offices, ensuring operational excellence and a high‑performing culture.
• Develop and maintain trusted client relationships, aligning services with commercial priorities and long‑term objectives.
• Deliver commercially astute advice across accounting, tax, and broader business matters.
• Lead, develop, and retain talented professionals, fostering accountability, engagement and clear career progression.
• Promote collaboration across offices and the wider firm to maintain consistent client service standards.
• Contribute to the firm’s strategic direction, balancing growth ambitions with its established values and reputation.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CTA qualified or equivalent.
• Extensive general practice experience with strong expertise in accounts, tax and advisory services.
• Proven relationship‑builder with a track record of developing enduring client partnerships.
• Inclusive, visible leader who sets high standards and leads by example.
• Commercially astute with sound judgement across client service, people leadership and firm performance.
