Director of Residential & Commercial Real Estate Lending

About the role

Our client, a well‑capitalised investment management firm, is seeking a Director to lead residential and commercial real‑estate lending across the UK. The role will oversee origination, structuring and execution of property loans ranging from £1 million to £30 million.

Key responsibilities

• Originate residential and commercial development, bridging and investment loans; build and maintain a network of brokers, developers and family offices.
• Lead credit analysis, financial modelling and risk assessment; structure senior, mezzanine and stretch senior facilities.
• Manage the full transaction lifecycle from term sheet to drawdown, including third‑party due diligence and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
• Contribute to the fund’s lending strategy, provide market intelligence and support the development of new lending products.

Required profile

• 8‑12+ years of experience in real‑estate lending, structured finance or private‑credit investing.
• Proven track record of originating and executing residential or commercial loans in the £1 m‑£30 m range.
• Strong understanding of UK planning, development and real‑estate markets.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with an extensive origination network.
• Excellent credit judgement, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics or related field; CFA, ACA, MRICS advantageous.
