Disabled Facilities Grant Officer

About the role

The Disabled Facilities Grant Officer will support the delivery of housing adaptations for disabled residents across South East England. Working closely with occupational therapists, local authorities and contractors, you will ensure grant applications are processed accurately and projects are completed to the required standards.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) from initial assessment through to completion.
• Interpret occupational therapist recommendations and translate them into detailed schedules of works.
• Conduct financial means‑test assessments and ensure compliance with the Housing, Grants Construction and Regeneration Act.
• Survey residential properties, prepare specifications, drawings and work schedules.
• Manage adaptation or improvement projects, coordinating with builders, suppliers and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Proven experience administering DFGs or similar housing grant schemes.
• Strong knowledge of building construction, building regulations and health & safety.
• Ability to produce clear specifications, drawings and schedules of work.
• Experience carrying out financial means‑test assessments.
• Familiarity with the Housing, Grants Construction and Regeneration Act.

Required skills
