Document Controller – Construction Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Document Controller to join our construction team in Manchester. This full‑time position offers the chance to manage project documentation across multiple stages and support the delivery of high‑quality construction outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage incoming electronic and hard‑copy documents.
• Coordinate progress and design meetings, record and distribute minutes.
• Maintain accurate records of drawings and construction documents throughout each project stage.
• Distribute drawings and design documents to relevant trades and consultants.
• Handle the Request for Information (RFI) process and provide regular reports.
• Provide timely answers to document‑control queries and train users on the system.
• Perform quality‑assurance checks, printing, review distribution and electronic forwarding to create an audit trail.
• Manage the flow and storage of information for the “Golden Thread” submission and maintain related trackers.
• Compile O&M manuals, create document templates and support technical documentation needs.

Required profile

• Knowledge of document control and construction industry terminology.
• Experience using an electronic document control system (Procore or similar cloud‑based platform).
• Previous role as a document controller within the construction sector.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

What we offer

• Salary £30,000 – £35,000 per annum.
• 37.5‑hour work week (9 am – 5.30 pm).

• 23 days annual leave, increasing with service.
