Drainage Engineer – Manchester

About the role

We are seeking a Drainage Engineer to join a well‑established civil and environmental consultancy in Manchester. The role offers ownership of drainage design, exposure to diverse North West projects and a clear progression path within a technically strong team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop drainage designs and strategies from concept through detailed design.
• Design Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), surface water and foul drainage networks.
• Produce technical drawings using AutoCAD and related tools.
• Support planning submissions and obtain regulatory approvals.
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Share technical knowledge and mentor junior staff.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Science.
• Minimum three years’ experience in drainage and flood‑risk projects.
• Proven experience with SuDS and drainage strategies.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach.

Required skills

• AutoCAD
• GIS (exposure beneficial)
