Technical and Development Manager

About the role

Armstrong Fluid Technology is seeking a Technical and Development Manager to lead the onboarding, development and performance of Service Partners and the Technical Support function across the UK. The role focuses on improving customer experience, operational efficiency and revenue growth while supporting field engineers and managing warranty processes.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess, onboard and develop Armstrong Service Partners (ASPs) across the UK, negotiating commercial agreements and monitoring KPI performance.
• Align UK Technical Support processes with global standards, transition to the LN10.7 ticketing system and drive process improvements using operational data.
• Develop and mentor Technical Support Engineers and office‑based support staff, especially in Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC troubleshooting.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and competency assessment of Armstrong employed engineers, delivering structured training and toolbox talks.
• Provide on‑site technical leadership, manage warranty costs, handle escalations and collaborate with sales on commissioning strategies for major projects.

Required profile

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, HVAC or related discipline.
• Proven experience in technical leadership, service management or development within HVAC, pumps or building services.
• Strong background in managing third‑party service providers, customer escalations and warranty processes.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and commercial awareness.
