Duty Airport Manager – Heathrow

About the role

Qantas is seeking a Duty Airport Manager to lead day‑to‑day operations at its key international gateway, Heathrow Airport. This full‑time permanent role ensures safe, efficient and customer‑focused delivery of international flight services while managing a high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all airport operational activities, ensuring compliance with safety, security and regulatory standards.
• Lead and develop frontline teams, handling performance management, coaching and after‑hours responsibilities.
• Manage operational disruptions, driving improvements in on‑time performance, customer experience and financial outcomes.
• Engage with airport authorities, government bodies, security agencies and airline partners to maintain operational excellence.
• Control operational costs, budgets and financial KPIs for the London operation.

Required profile

• Proven operational management experience in aviation or a similarly complex, safety‑critical industry.
• Strong people leadership abilities, including coaching, mentoring and team development.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Analytical mindset with a track record of delivering results in time‑critical environments.
• Commitment to health, safety and regulatory compliance.
