Early Help Support Worker – Family Support

About the role

The role is for an Early Help Support Worker delivering practical and emotional support to families across a Birmingham district. You will manage a caseload, conduct assessments, and work closely with local agencies to ensure timely interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of families requiring early intervention.
• Complete Early Help Assessments and develop tailored support plans.
• Conduct home visits and provide practical and emotional assistance.
• Signpost families to appropriate services and coordinate with partners.
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to service evaluations.
• Produce case studies demonstrating the impact of interventions.

Required profile

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in social care, education, health or a related field.
• Previous experience supporting children, young people and families in Early Help, Family Support or Community Support settings.
• Experience completing assessments, managing caseloads and developing support plans.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, child development and Early Help frameworks.
• Excellent communication and partnership‑building skills.
• Strong record‑keeping, organisational and IT abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.

Required skills

• Basic IT skills for case management and reporting.
