Mobile Cleaner

About the role

Provide a professional, comprehensive cleaning service on site, ensuring all facilities are maintained in a clean state and ready for use. The Mobile Cleaner works under the direction of the Soft Services Manager, Area Team Leader and Mobile Supervisor, and may use a council‑allocated vehicle to travel between sites.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general cleaning tasks such as mopping, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning washrooms and emptying bins.
• Perform high‑level and periodic cleaning on request, following the Operational Facilities Management sign‑off procedure.
• Use and maintain cleaning equipment and chemicals safely, checking electrical equipment before and after use.
• Report building faults, maintenance issues and health & safety concerns to the ATL/SSM promptly.
• Drive the allocated vehicle safely, complete pre‑ and post‑shift safety checks, and ensure the vehicle is returned in good condition.
• Wear the required uniform, PPE and adhere to personal hygiene standards while on duty.

Required profile

• Willingness to undertake training and hold a full, clean driving licence.
• Previous experience as a driver or cleaning operative, including periodic cleaning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of health & safety duties and responsibilities.
