Ecologist – Tree Climbing (Winter Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to support tree‑climbing works on a major UK infrastructure project during the winter months. The role runs full‑time from September to December with a possible extension to April 2027, offering exposure to nationally significant schemes.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out protected species and habitat surveys on site.
• Perform tree‑climbing assessments and produce detailed reports.
• Provide ecological advice to site teams, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Liaise with environmental specialists and project managers to ensure compliance with legislation.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Ecologist within consultancy, construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and ecological survey methodologies.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to the site.
• Ability to work safely at height and hold relevant safety certifications.
