Education Subject Specialist – GCSE & A Level (EdTech, London)

About the role
This freelance position supports an innovative EdTech organisation in developing curriculum‑aligned content for GCSE and A‑Level students. The role blends hands‑on collaboration in a central London office with occasional remote tasks, allowing you to shape products with your classroom expertise.
Key responsibilities
- Provide candid, structured feedback on prototypes and product features.
- Coach product team members on effective subject teaching, common misconceptions, and exam techniques.
- Deliver live tutoring sessions for observation and modelling of best practice.
- Review the live platform, flagging strengths and issues.
- Produce deliverables such as model answers, feature reviews, and pedagogical sense‑checks against clear briefs.
Required profile
- Qualified teacher with recent UK secondary or sixth‑form experience in Maths, Chemistry or History.
- Current or recent senior teaching role (Head of Department, Lead Practitioner, Subject Lead, etc.).
- Passionate about the subject and able to communicate enthusiasm clearly.
- Deep knowledge of pedagogy, student learning pathways, and exam techniques.
- Familiarity with UK exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC) and their mark schemes.
Required skills
- Experience writing exam questions and mark schemes.
- Ability to analyse and improve curriculum content.
