Electrical Fitter (HV) – Birmingham

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter specialised in high‑voltage (HV) environments to join a rapidly expanding engineering business. You will work on substation projects across the West Midlands, installing and assembling critical HV equipment while supporting your professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Install high‑voltage electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, cables and related components.
• Perform mechanical fitting, cable installation, terminations, earthing and bonding.
• Assist with testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of HV equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians and other team members to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

Required profile

• Proven background as an HV fitter or in a similar role.
• Experience working within DNO, solar or comparable high‑voltage environments.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Required skills

• High‑voltage equipment installation (transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers).
• Cable installation and terminations.
• Earthing and bonding.
• Testing and commissioning of HV systems.
• Mechanical fitting of structural steelwork and control panels.

• Salary £32,000‑£40,000 plus OTE £38,000‑£46,000.
