Electrical Improver – Night Shift (Rail Telecoms)

About the role

Our client, a large rail telecoms business, is seeking experienced Electrical Improvers to work night shifts on various London Underground stations. The role involves installing and testing cabling systems during the early morning hours.

Key responsibilities

• Install Cable Management Systems (CMS) including trunking, trays and conduit.
• Install, terminate and test CAT6A and fibre optic cabling.
• Work night shifts from 23:45 to 04:45, with active hours between 00:30 and 04:30.
• Comply with health and safety requirements, including pre‑sponsorship drug and alcohol testing.

Required profile

• ECS JIB Electrician Card or equivalent grading card.
• Valid ICI, DBS security check, Manual Handling and Asbestos Awareness certificates.
• Preference for a PASMA card.
• Must be clean‑shaven or wear an Airshield Pro mask for the project duration.

Required skills

• CMS installation (trunking, trays, conduit).
• CAT6A cabling installation, termination and testing.
• Fibre optic cabling installation, termination and testing.
