Principal Digital Hardware Design Lead

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Digital Hardware Design Lead to provide technical and people leadership across a growing engineering function. The role combines architecture, team leadership, customer engagement and product delivery, shaping technical direction while staying close to engineering decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team delivering complex FPGA and ASIC technology.
• Define technical direction and influence long‑term product strategy.
• Own the successful delivery of high‑value engineering programmes.
• Work directly with customers, architects and senior stakeholders to turn ideas into products.

Required profile

• Proven track record leading teams delivering complex digital hardware products.
• Strong FPGA and/or ASIC design expertise with system‑level architectural thinking.
• Ability to balance technical leadership, project delivery and people development.
• Experience mentoring engineers while remaining close to the technology.
• Background in communications, semiconductor IP, wireless infrastructure or signal processing is advantageous.
