Electrical Maintenance Engineer (HVAP Training Provided)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a large educational campus in North West London. The role involves delivering planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on a variety of electrical systems, with the opportunity to become the site’s High Voltage Authorised Person after training.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to urgent electrical faults across the campus.
• Diagnose and repair single‑phase and three‑phase power circuits, lighting, distribution boards and emergency systems.
• Once qualified, act as the High Voltage Authorised Person, manage HV switching schedules and issue permits to work.
• Supervise external contractors to ensure compliance with health, safety and building regulations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, compliance records and documentation.

Required profile

• City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installations with the 18th Edition qualification.
• Proven experience in commercial or large‑scale site electrical maintenance (e.g., universities, hospitals, corporate headquarters).
• Existing HVAP status is preferred; candidates without it must be willing to undertake HV training.
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
