Electrical Testing and Fixed Wirer Tester

About the role

We are seeking a qualified electrician or electrical engineer to join a leading global engineering organisation as an Electrical Testing and Fixed Wirer Tester. The role is based in London and focuses on statutory inspections and testing of industrial and commercial electrical installations, offering a stable, client‑facing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out high‑quality inspections, examinations and electrical testing across sectors such as manufacturing, utilities, retail, logistics and the public sector.
• Produce Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and ensure all work complies with the 18th Edition (BS7671) regulations and health & safety standards.
• Generate accurate technical inspection reports within agreed timescales.
• Provide professional technical advice to clients and identify additional service opportunities.

Required profile

• Qualified Electrician, Industrial Electrician or Electrical Engineer.
• Hold an 18th Edition testing qualification – City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395.
• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Electrical Installation (Part 1, 2 & 3 or 2365 Diploma).
• Experience with fixed wirer testing is advantageous.

Required skills

• 18th Edition (BS7671) regulations knowledge.
• City & Guilds 2391, 2394 and 2395 inspection & testing qualifications.
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation competence.
• Fixed wirer testing and EICR preparation.
• Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and health & safety compliance.
