Employability Tutor – Further Education

About the role
The Employability Tutor (FE) will deliver careers, employability and placement services to further‑education students at University College Birmingham. You will act as a key liaison between students, academic departments and external employers, ensuring high‑quality work‑experience opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Organise and manage student placements and work‑experience opportunities.
- Mentor students on placement, provide CV assistance and interview coaching.
- Maintain placement databases and support open‑day events.
- Promote the university through various media and develop links with schools, departments and employers.
Required profile
- Minimum Level 3 qualification.
- Experience supporting students into placements or relevant client‑facing industry experience.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work with a diverse range of clients and conduct off‑site placement visits.
Required skills
- Proficiency in IT and administration.
