English Teacher – Alternative Provision

About the role
This permanent role starts in September 2026 and is based in an Alternative Provision setting in Birmingham. You will teach small groups of Key Stage 3 and 4 students, delivering engaging English lessons that meet a wide range of learning needs.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated English lessons for KS3 and KS4 pupils.
- Teach small groups, adapting content to individual barriers to learning.
- Build positive relationships and support pupils’ personal development.
- Contribute to a collaborative staff team and participate in whole‑school initiatives.
- Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) activities.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English.
- Passionate, resilient and able to re‑engage students who have struggled in mainstream education.
- Excellent behaviour management skills.
- Compassionate and flexible teaching style.
- Experience or strong interest in Alternative Provision settings.
