Experienced Accountant – AAT Qualified (Hybrid)

About the role

Bennett Brooks Chartered Accountants are looking for an experienced accountant to manage a varied client portfolio, including self‑assessment work, and to support the Client Director in delivering high‑quality service. This hands‑on, client‑focused role offers hybrid working and the chance to grow within a progressive practice.

Key responsibilities

• Service a portfolio of small and medium‑sized owner‑managed businesses.
• Prepare accounts for limited companies and corporation tax computations.
• Complete self‑assessment tax returns and monitor billing targets.
• Track job progress, meet deadlines and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Build positive relationships with clients and the practice.
• Respond to client queries promptly and support colleagues and trainees.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a practice environment.
• AAT qualification or higher.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commercial acumen with a solid understanding of business objectives.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IRIS accounting software.
• Experience using Sage.
• Familiarity with DEXT.
• Competence in Xero.
