About the role
The Facilities Supervisor will lead the management and maintenance of council buildings and associated services, ensuring they are safe, compliant and aligned with sustainability goals. Working within the Regeneration, Housing and Environment directorate, the role blends strategic planning with day‑to‑day operational oversight.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of council premises and facilities.
- Coordinate external contractors and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Manage the facilities budget and monitor cost‑effectiveness.
- Drive sustainability initiatives and energy‑efficiency projects.
- Lead and develop the facilities team, providing direction and support.
- Liaise with internal departments to meet service requirements.
- Monitor performance metrics and produce regular reports.
Required profile
- Proven experience in facilities or building services management.
- Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Basic DBS clearance.
