Facilities Supervisor – Soft Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Supervisor to lead soft services across multiple healthcare and commercial sites in Birmingham. You will ensure that all environments are safe, compliant and presented to a high standard while supporting both clinical and commercial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support facilities staff to deliver safe, high‑quality soft services.
• Manage attendance, performance, training and day‑to‑day staff issues.
• Oversee contractors, monitor performance against specifications and service level agreements.
• Conduct regular audits, inspections and quality checks, escalating issues as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety requirements, especially in clinical settings.
• Maintain presentation standards and a positive customer experience in commercial buildings.
• Act as the primary point of contact for service users, clinical teams and building occupants.
• Support budgeting, cost control and value‑for‑money initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising soft facilities services in a regulated environment such as healthcare.
• Strong people‑management and contractor‑management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Good understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance processes.
