Factory Closure Project Manager

About the role

Futures is seeking an Interim Factory Closure Project Manager to lead the shutdown of a manufacturing site for a UK client. The role begins with a 6‑8 week discovery phase followed by up to 12 months of programme oversight, working 2‑4 days per month.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a full review of supplier, service and facilities contracts, lease obligations and utility agreements.
• Compile a register of manufacturing assets and coordinate valuation and disposal with dealers and auction houses.
• Assess environmental, compliance and statutory requirements and identify inventory reduction opportunities.
• Develop a costed, board‑level roadmap that outlines milestones, owners, risks and commercial implications.
• During the delivery phase, monitor progress against the roadmap, chair project review meetings and manage risks, issues and dependencies.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders and external suppliers, update governance documentation and provide independent challenge when needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering factory closures, site consolidations or manufacturing transfers.
• Strong analytical ability to evaluate contracts, assets and compliance obligations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously on‑site and provide strategic oversight remotely.
