Family Chartered Legal Executive (Family Law Solicitor)

About the role

The Legists are expanding their Family Law team and are seeking a Family Chartered Legal Executive / Family Law Solicitor to work across Manchester, Bristol, Sheffield or Stratford‑upon‑Avon. This is a full‑time (37.5 hrs/week) hybrid role, with one day a week in the office and the remainder remote.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of a mixed caseload of family matters, negotiating to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
• Use the case management system to record information accurately and efficiently.
• Meet individual and team chargeable time and profit targets.
• Draft, review and audit legal documents and correspondence.
• Provide administrative and secretarial support as required.
• For senior or lead positions, manage junior team members, delegate work and contribute to departmental strategy and marketing.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or CILEX‑qualified with experience handling privately funded family law cases.
• Proven track record of meeting chargeable and billing targets.
• Strong IT competence, including use of a case management system.
• Excellent relationship‑building and customer service skills.
• High attention to detail, strong organisational abilities and resilience.
