Family Solicitor

About the role

We are partnering with an established regional law firm that is expanding its Family Law practice across the South West. The successful candidate will join a dedicated Family team, managing a varied caseload and building strong client relationships, with hybrid working available from Stroud, Dursley or Cirencester.

Key responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload from initial instruction through to resolution.
• Advise clients clearly and sensitively on their legal options.
• Prepare applications, statements, position statements and other legal documentation.
• Attend and conduct hearings where appropriate.
• Work alongside counsel, CAFCASS, local authorities and other professionals.
• Manage deadlines, budgets and case progression effectively.
• Maintain high standards of client care and file management.
• Support the wider team and contribute to the development of the Family practice.
• Identify opportunities to develop professional relationships and contribute to business development.

Required profile

• 2+ years post‑qualification experience within Family Law.
• Experience managing your own caseload.
• Strong knowledge of Family Law and excellent client‑care skills.
• Good advocacy and drafting experience.
• Legal Aid experience, particularly in Care work, is advantageous.
• Previous supervision experience is useful but not essential.
• Commercial and proactive approach to work.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• Children Panel accreditation is advantageous but not essential.
• Commitment to Family Law and desire to grow within a supportive team.
