Festival Lead Producer (Hybrid, London)

About the role

The Council is seeking an experienced Festival Lead Producer to drive the creative and operational delivery of a major community festival in London. This hybrid position runs from September/October 2026 through July/August 2027 and operates inside IR35.

Key responsibilities

• Curate and deliver the full festival programme, including live music, youth and community activities, children’s events, sport, entertainment, food and traders.
• Lead an Assistant Producer and manage the appointed production company and key suppliers.
• Develop and control budgets exceeding £150,000, handling procurement, contracts and purchase orders.
• Commission and contract artists, secure fundraising, sponsorship and other income streams.
• Coordinate community, voluntary sector and business participation, managing multiple stakeholders and partners.
• Support marketing and communications efforts and ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Lead post‑event evaluation and financial close‑down, including a six‑day wrap‑up period.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience producing complex or outdoor events.
• Proven track record managing budgets of £150k+ and related contracts.
• Experience working with local authorities or public‑sector organisations.
• Background in commissioning and managing artists.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver community‑focused or culturally diverse programmes.
