Field Operations Supervisor – South Region

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Field Operations Supervisor to manage a portfolio of energy generation and gas asset sites across the South region. The role involves leading technicians, overseeing day‑to‑day site operations, and ensuring maximum plant availability while upholding health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate technicians across assigned gas fields, reciprocating assets and peaking plants.
• Ensure compliance with operational, environmental and safety requirements.
• Manage daily operations to maximise safe plant availability and electrical output.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical plant maintenance and scheduled site inspections.
• Support field technicians with fault finding and maintenance activities.
• Oversee contractors and enforce company procedures.
• Control operating costs, resource allocation, stock and maintenance documentation.
• Liaise with clients and site management teams.
• Support commissioning, handover of new sites and equipment.
• Participate in 24‑hour emergency call‑out rota and out‑of‑hours trading operations.

Required profile

• Previous supervisory or team‑leadership experience.
• Strong planning and organisational abilities.
• Recognised qualification or extensive experience in mechanical or electrical disciplines.
• Experience with peaking plant, CHP or similar generation assets.
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage workloads efficiently.
• Computer literate.
• Full UK manual driving licence.
