Field Service Engineer – Fire & Security (Lead)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer with a fire and security background to lead a small team of apprenticeship‑level engineers. Based in Birmingham, you will split your time between on‑site installations across the Midlands and office work, with regular travel to projects nationwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the installation, commissioning, servicing and handover of fire alarm, intruder alarm, access control and CCTV systems.
• Ensure all work complies with UK regulations and standards such as BS 7671, BS 5839 and NSI.
• Liaise with SSAIB for audits and inspections.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to three junior engineers.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for each project.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel nationwide.
• Proven experience in fire and security system installation and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of relevant UK standards and regulations.
• Ability to lead a small technical team.
