Field Service Engineer – Mechanical/Heavy Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer with a mechanical, heavy‑engineering background to join a well‑established distributor of compressor equipment. The role is home‑based within Yorkshire, with travel to customer sites to deliver service, maintenance and repairs on high‑pressure reciprocating compressors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform service, maintenance, fault finding and repair of high‑pressure reciprocating compressors at customer sites across Yorkshire.
• Carry out mechanical fault diagnosis, strip‑downs and overhauls on compressors, pumps, engines and rotating equipment.
• Maintain a Monday‑to‑Friday schedule, typically 8 am‑4 pm, ensuring timely completion of service calls.

Required profile

• Mechanical or heavy‑engineering background.
• Field service experience with compressors, pumps, engines or rotating equipment.
• Based in Yorkshire and able to commute to sites across the region.

Required skills

• High‑pressure reciprocating compressors.
• Mechanical fault finding.
• Strip‑downs and overhauls of rotating equipment.
