Field Service Engineer – Siemens PLC Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a multi‑skilled Field Service Engineer to repair, refurbish, install and commission end‑of‑line packaging machinery across the UK and Ireland. The role focuses on fault finding, modifying and upgrading Siemens PLCs (or similar) and involves regular travel, including 2‑3 nights away per week and occasional weekend work.

Key responsibilities

• Repair, refurbishment, installation and commissioning of packaging equipment.
• Perform fault finding and corrective actions on Siemens PLCs.
• Modify and upgrade PLC programmes to meet client specifications.
• Provide on‑site technical support and training to customers.
• Travel throughout the UK and Ireland, staying away from home 2‑3 nights per week and one weekend per month on average.
• Attend full training programmes on‑the‑job and at the European headquarters.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer working with end‑of‑line packaging machinery in the food and/or beverage sector.
• Electrical and electronic engineering qualifications.
• Specific experience with fault finding, modification and upgrade of Siemens PLCs (or comparable systems).
• Factory Maintenance Engineers with similar packaging machinery and PLC experience will also be considered.
