Finance Process Transformation Lead – SAP S/4HANA (Interim)

About the role

This interim position supports a major FTSE‑listed organisation in the discovery, assessment and roadmap phase of its Finance Transformation programme as it moves towards SAP S/4HANA. You will work closely with senior Finance and Transformation leaders to shape the future state of core finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead discovery and diagnostic activities across Record‑to‑Report, Order‑to‑Cash and Procure‑to‑Pay processes.
• Assess current‑state processes, data and systems and define future‑state designs aligned with S/4HANA best practices.
• Identify opportunities for standardisation, simplification, data harmonisation and improved governance.
• Develop a prioritised, value‑led Finance Transformation roadmap and associated business cases.
• Challenge recommendations from external consultancies and system integrators, ensuring minimal customisation.
• Engage and influence senior Finance, Transformation and Executive stakeholders.
• Support the transition from discovery to mobilisation for subsequent delivery phases.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading Finance Process Transformation within a major SAP S/4HANA programme.
• Proven responsibility for discovery, diagnostic and roadmap stages of large‑scale finance transformations.
• Deep end‑to‑end knowledge of R2R, O2C and P2P processes.
• Ability to challenge Tier 1 consultancies and system integrators on design and customisation decisions.
• Credibility operating with senior Finance and Executive stakeholders.
