Financial Accountant – Birmingham

About the role

GreenSquareAccord is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its finance team in Birmingham. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will be part of a collaborative Financial Reporting team delivering accurate month‑end reporting, statutory accounts and supporting year‑end audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review timely financial reports and month‑end close schedules.
• Assist with statutory accounts preparation and coordinate year‑end audit processes.
• Lead cost analysis for Repairs & Maintenance and produce related insights.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Work closely with business partners to provide financial information that supports decision‑making.
• Identify and implement process improvements across the finance function.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in finance or financial accounting.
• Experience supporting month‑end processes and financial reporting.
• Studying towards or newly qualified in ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong analytical ability with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to build relationships across the organisation.
• Experience in the housing sector is advantageous but not essential.
