Financial Controller (Audit Manager level) – Manchester

About the role

We are partnering with a prestigious organisation in central Manchester to recruit a Financial Controller who will step into an Audit Manager‑level position. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will lead a small finance team and ensure the smooth operation of daily financial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a small finance team, overseeing day‑to‑day finance operations.
• Maintain and improve financial controls, processes and reporting accuracy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to provide timely financial information.
• Support the Finance Director in strategic financial management and decision‑making.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and solve financial problems.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, currently working at Audit Manager level in practice.
• Strong attention to detail and confident communication skills.
• Proven management experience with the ability to lead a team and manage workload.
• Technical finance expertise with a problem‑solving mindset.
