Financial Controller (Hybrid, Bristol)

About the role

We are a fast‑growing, PE‑backed business based in Central Bristol looking for a technically strong Financial Controller to join us on a permanent basis. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead a small finance team and own core reporting while driving financial performance across international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and motivate a small finance team handling a broad operational remit.
• Oversee ledger postings, balance‑sheet reconciliations, group consolidation and review of reporting packs, delivering management accounts.
• Produce monthly board materials with analysis and commentary.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting, liquidity and foreign‑currency exposure.
• Prepare financial submissions for investors and lenders.
• Support the preparation of annual financial statements and statutory returns.
• Lead the external audit process.
• Engage with internal teams and external partners, including private‑equity stakeholders.
• Strengthen financial processes, policies and controls across the group.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with prior audit experience.
• Proven track record of driving process improvements, financial performance and team development in a fast‑growth environment.
• Experience working in a multi‑currency business.
• Willingness to work in the Central Bristol office three days per week.
