Fire Alarm Sales Engineer / Surveyor – Key Account Manager

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Fire Alarm Sales Engineer/Surveyor to become a Key Account Manager for our fire safety division. You will combine technical site surveys with relationship‑focused sales, acting as a trusted advisor to facilities‑management companies across the South East.

Key responsibilities

• Visit fire alarm sites 2‑3 days a week to conduct surveys and assess compliance with BS 5839.
• Prepare accurate quotations and design recommendations for fire alarm upgrades or new installations.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts, building long‑term relationships with clients.
• Work from home or office on the remaining days to process quotes, follow up leads, and achieve sales targets.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure proposed solutions meet technical standards.

Required profile

• Experience as a fire alarm engineer, surveyor, designer, technical manager or key account manager.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm standards, particularly BS 5839, and familiarity with FIA/BAFE training.
• Ability to travel across Essex, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Berkshire, Hampshire and Buckinghamshire (commutable to London).
• Proven ability to build relationships and influence facilities‑management decision‑makers.
