Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at SPAICE, you will bridge cutting‑edge Spatial AI technology with real‑world defence, aerospace and government platforms. You will own end‑to‑end customer projects, from requirements gathering through integration, field testing and operational delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and operationalise SPAICE perception, navigation and autonomy software on drones, satellites, robotic platforms and related hardware.
• Integrate SPAICE systems with customer‑built infrastructure via APIs, middleware, communication protocols and data pipelines.
• Configure Linux‑based edge AI hardware, build deployment tooling and troubleshoot issues across OS, networks and sensors.
• Support live field trials, analyse system behaviour and resolve technical problems under operational constraints.

Required profile

• M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Strong problem‑solving ability in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments and excellent communication with defence, aerospace and government stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and field test locations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Deep knowledge of Linux, networking and embedded systems.
• Experience with robotics integration, hardware interfaces and API development.
• Familiarity with simulation, hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing and field trials.
