Freelance ARB Architect – Heritage Commercial Projects

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Freelance ARB Architect to join an intensive six‑week project in London. The role focuses on delivering commercial architectural solutions within Grade II listed buildings, balancing heritage preservation with modern commercial needs.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and refine detailed design packages, construction drawings, and specifications that respect heritage constraints.
• Prepare, review and submit documentation for Listed Building Consent, planning variations and building regulations.
• Collaborate with conservation officers, heritage consultants, structural engineers and the commercial client.
• Optimise internal commercial layouts such as hospitality, high‑end workspaces or retail within historic structures.

Required profile

• RIBA Part 3 qualified and ARB registered.
• Proven experience working on Grade II (or Grade I) listed buildings.
• Strong portfolio of commercial projects – boutique hotels, workplace design or commercial retrofits.
• Ability to start immediately and deliver high‑quality outputs under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Advanced proficiency in Vectorworks.
