Full‑time Secondary Cover Supervisor – Temp‑to‑Perm

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with secondary schools in Witham to hire full‑time Cover Supervisors on a temporary‑to‑permanent basis starting September 2026. This position is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or anyone with experience working with young people who wants to gain classroom experience.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes in the absence of a teacher, ensuring students stay on task.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Deliver pre‑prepared work and ensure learning continues smoothly.
• Provide feedback to teachers and school leaders on student progress and conduct.
• Support students across a range of year groups and subjects.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people (e.g., schools, youth work, sports coaching, tutoring).
• A confident and professional approach to classroom management.
• Excellent communication skills and a calm, positive attitude.
• A strong interest in education, ideal for those considering a future in teaching.
• Availability for a full‑time role with the potential to move into a permanent contract.
