Functional Skills Tutor – Maths & English (Full‑time)

About the role

KM Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking two Functional Skills Tutors to deliver Maths and English (up to Level 2) in a centre‑based setting in Woolwich. The role also involves embedding literacy, numeracy, digital skills and employability into lessons and supporting learners to progress towards their career goals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Skills Maths and/or English to small groups of learners.
• Integrate literacy, numeracy, digital skills and employability content into lessons.
• Prepare and utilise teaching resources, creating new materials when required.
• Provide engaging, differentiated training sessions and ongoing information, advice and guidance (IAG).
• Adapt quickly to learners’ needs and promote equality, diversity, safeguarding and health & safety.

Required profile

• Experience delivering Functional Skills training to small groups.
• Level 3 qualification in English and/or Maths (or equivalent).
• Hold or be willing to work towards a Level 3 teaching qualification (PTLLS/AET or equivalent).
• Demonstrable energy, passion and the ability to motivate learners.
• Strong presentation, communication and initiative skills.
