General Manager, AI Services

About the role

As General Manager, AI Services at Checkatrade you will build one of the company’s most strategically significant new revenue streams from the ground up. Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you will own the full P&L and shape how AI helps tradespeople and homeowners get more from the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the AI Services strategy, roadmap, pricing and unit economics, delivering end‑to‑end P&L ownership.
• Identify and prioritise AI‑driven revenue opportunities across consumer and trade audiences, building business cases for the CEO and Board.
• Partner with the COO and CTO to shape and deliver the AI product roadmap, creating products that solve real problems for homeowners and tradespeople.
• Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies (LLMs, agentic systems, computer vision) and translate them into customer‑focused solutions, managing third‑party AI partners.
• Recruit, lead and develop a cross‑functional team spanning product, engineering, data science and commercial functions.
• Represent AI Services across the operating company, collaborating with Marketing, Sales and Operations while ensuring regulatory and ethical compliance.

Required profile

• Proven track record of building and scaling a new product line or business unit within consumer tech or a marketplace.
• Experience commercialising B2B software, AI or data products from concept to revenue.
• Strong commercial acumen with P&L ownership and ability to translate AI technologies into customer value.
• Outstanding communication skills, capable of influencing at Board level and inspiring teams.
