About the role
The General Porter Driver provides essential transport and portering services across NHS facilities, ensuring the safe movement of goods, supplies and patients. This is a relief position covering all shifts, including day, night and weekends.
Key responsibilities
- Drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes to transport equipment, medical supplies and patients.
- Support the delivery of high‑quality portering services throughout the organisation.
- Operate in a shift‑cover (relief) capacity, responding to demand across all hours.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any issues promptly.
Required profile
- Valid UK driving licence appropriate for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
- PVG Scheme membership or willingness to obtain it before starting.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Required skills
- Vehicle operation (up to 3.5‑tonne vehicles).
