About the role
Brookfield Community School is seeking an inspirational Geography specialist to join its dedicated secondary department. The role starts in September 2026 and involves teaching Year 7 to Year 11 pupils, delivering the AQA Geography GCSE curriculum in a supportive, over‑subscribed 11‑16 mixed comprehensive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Teach Geography to Year 7‑11 students, delivering the AQA GCSE syllabus.
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ knowledge and skills.
- Assess student work, provide feedback and record progress.
- Contribute to departmental meetings and whole‑school initiatives.
- Support pupils’ personal development and aspiration.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience or enthusiasm for teaching Geography at secondary level.
- Willingness to work with Early Career Teachers and engage in professional development.
- Ability to teach a second humanities subject is an advantage.
Required skills
- Knowledge of the AQA Geography GCSE curriculum.
- Lesson planning and classroom management.
- Assessment and data recording.
