Graduate AI Engineer – 2-year Development Programme

About the role

Join Airbus’s two‑year Graduate AI Engineer programme starting September 2027 in Filton. You will develop AI‑driven solutions for the Digital Airframe team, bridging data science with aerospace engineering while receiving structured leadership and technical training.

Key responsibilities

• Support the unification of fragmented processes, tools and data across Airbus domains to create a cohesive Digital Airframe capability.
• Assist in integrating physical models with data‑driven AI approaches, using machine learning, symbolic AI, computer vision and hybrid modelling techniques.
• Develop and implement full‑stack software solutions with Python on cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Participate in rotational placements with engineering, AI governance and research teams to build cross‑functional expertise.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Materials or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).
• Recent graduation or early professional experience in AI, machine learning, data science or physical engineering.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Self‑awareness, collaborative mindset and a desire to drive personal development.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Machine learning frameworks (e.g., Scikit‑Learn, TensorFlow).
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP).
• Knowledge of computer vision, surrogate modelling and hybrid modelling.
• Understanding of Agile software development practices.
