Flight Physics Data Science Engineer Placement

About the role

This 12.5‑month placement starts on 16 August 2027 in Filton, Bristol. It is part of the Flight Physics Capability & Strategy team, focusing on data analytics and visualisation of Flight Physics data. The role offers a real‑world project with responsibility and ownership of tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a three‑tier web application framework for custom visualisations of static and dynamic Flight Physics data.
• Apply modern data analytics and machine‑learning algorithms to analyse Flight Physics datasets and generate strategic visual insights.
• Support innovation projects and collaborate with engineers across the Flight Physics team.

Required profile

• Undergraduate studying Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Some experience with software development or coding.
• Curious, proactive and able to manage problems in a fast‑paced environment.
