Graduate AOCS/GNC & Flight Dynamics Engineer

About the role

This two‑year graduate programme will develop you into an AOCS/GNC & Flight Dynamics Engineer working on cutting‑edge European Space Agency missions. You will rotate through design, analysis and software development tasks while receiving structured leadership and technical training.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyse attitude, orbit control and guidance, navigation and control systems for small studies and large satellite or interplanetary projects.
• Support ESA missions such as ExoMars Rover, ARIEL, AEOLUS‑2 and VIGIL, contributing to flight algorithms and hardware validation.
• Produce full‑lifecycle documentation, including design justifications, software requirements and performance analysis reports.
• Develop prototype software using C, MATLAB and Simulink, and create non‑real‑time simulators.
• Participate in at least one rotational placement to broaden technical exposure.

Required profile

• Degree in Control, Automation, Space, Aeronautical or related engineering discipline.
• Recent graduate or limited professional experience in AOCS, GNC or flight dynamics.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Motivation to work collaboratively on innovative space projects.
• Self‑awareness and a proactive attitude toward personal development.

Required skills

• MATLAB and Simulink proficiency.
• C programming (or similar language) experience.
• General computer literacy, including MS Office.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and basic Linux/CMake environments.
• Experience with mathematical modelling, computer simulations and software development is highly desirable.
