Graduate Electrical Engineer – East Midlands

About the role

Our client, a market leader in innovative integrated systems for the transportation infrastructure sector, is seeking a motivated Graduate Electrical Engineer to join their Derby‑based team. This full‑time position offers exposure to cutting‑edge SCADA, PLC and IP‑based audio‑visual projects, supporting blue‑chip clients worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, implement and test control and integrated systems.
• Program PLCs using Ladder Logic, Function Block or Statement List techniques.
• Configure and commission SCADA software packages.
• Develop high‑level code in languages such as C, C++, VB and VBA.
• Design IP networks and configure CCTV, PA and telephone systems over IP.
• Design, assemble and test ELV electrical panels.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and on‑site commissioning under client‑witnessed conditions.

Required profile

• Degree or HND in Electrical, Electronic, Control or Software Engineering.
• At least 12 months post‑academic work experience in a commercial environment.
• Full UK driving licence and immediate right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to relocate to the East Midlands on short notice.

• PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Function Block, Statement List).
